In a significant move to simplify and modernise the admission process, the Maharashtra Education Department has officially launched a dedicated online portal for Class 11 (First-Year Junior College) admissions. This digital platform is designed to make the transition from Class 10 to higher secondary education more seamless, transparent, and accessible for students across the state.

Starting May 19, 2025, students who have completed their SSC (Class 10) exams can begin registering through the portal. This marks a critical step in ensuring that the admission process is more organised, efficient, and student-friendly, reducing the traditional chaos and uncertainty that often surrounds junior college admissions.

Why This Matters

Every year, thousands of students in Maharashtra compete for seats in junior colleges across various streams — Science, Commerce, Arts, and vocational courses. Until recently, this process involved physical forms, multiple visits to colleges, and long queues. The new portal aims to eliminate these hurdles by bringing the entire process online, offering a single-window system where students can:

शैक्षणिक वर्ष २४-२५ पासून बारावीला ग्रुप-बी (पीसीबी) म्हणजेच फक्त बायोलॉजी (जीवशास्त्र) ग्रुप असणारे विद्यार्थी आता अभियांत्रिकीला पात्र होणार आहेत. राज्य शासनाच्या २०२४-२५ च्या पदवी व पदव्युत्तर अभियांत्रिकी नवेश प्रक्रियेच्या माहिती पुस्तकातील क. ७ च्या पात्रता निकषांच्या संदभनि परावीच्या बायोलॉजीच्या सद्यार्थ्यांनी राज्य सरकारची सामाईक बेश परीक्षा (सीईटी) दिली आहे. केंद्र सरकारची 'नीट'ची परीक्षा दिली असेल त्यांना अभियांत्रिकीच्या प्रवेश प्रक्रियेमध्ये थेट संधी दिली जाणार आहे. यामुळे मेडिकल, फार्मसी अशा प्रवेश परीक्षांना अर्ज केलेल्या हजारो विद्यार्थ्यांना अभियांत्रिकी शिक्षणाचा पर्याय आता उपलब्ध होणार आहे.

एआयसीटीईने बायोटेक्नॉलॉजी अभियांत्रिकीसाठी पीसीबी ग्रुपला मान्यता दिली. सीईटी सेलच्या परिपत्रकानुसार या वर्षापासून पीसीबीचे विद्यार्थी अभियांत्रिकीसाठी ऑनलाईन अर्ज करू शकतात. विद्यार्थ्यांनी याचा फायदा घ्यावा. असं आवाहन के आय टी चे संचालक डॉ. मोहन वनरोट्टी यांनी केलं आहे. भविष्यात अशा सर्व विद्यार्थ्यांना बायोटेक्नॉलॉजी इंजिनिअरिंग, अॅग्रीकल्चर इंजिनिअरिंग, फूड इंजिनिअरिंग, लेदर टेक्नॉलॉजी, पॅकेजिंग टेक्नॉलॉजी, फार्मास्युटि इंजिनिअरिंग, प्रिंटिंग इंजिनिआ फॅशन टेक्नॉलॉजी आणि टेक्स्ट केमिस्ट्री अशा अभ्यासक्रमांना मिळणे शक्य होणार आहे. याबाबतची माहिती लवकरात लवकर सरकारकडून जाहीर केली जाणार आहे. अभियांत्रिकीच्या प्रक्रियेमध्ये नोंदणीस १० जुलै पासून सुरू होण्याची शक्यता आहे. त्यानुसार रजिस्ट्रेशन, कागदपत्रांची उपास छाननी व ऑप्शन कोर्म भरता येणार आहेत.

शैक्षणिक वर्ष २०२४-२५मध्ये राज्यातील पुणे आणि पिंपरी-चिंचवडसह मुंबई महानगर क्षेत्र, नाशिक, अमरावती, नागपूर महापालिका क्षेत्रांतील कनिष्ठ महाविद्यालये आणि उच्च माध्यमिक शाळांमधील अकरावीचे प्रवेश केंद्रीय ऑनलाइन प्रवेश प्रक्रियेमार्फत होतील. त्यानुसार ‘मॉक डेमो’ नोंदणी अंतर्गत बुधवारी (ता. २२) आणि गुरुवारी (ता. २३) डमी अर्ज भरण्याचा सराव विद्यार्थी-पालक करू शकतील. शुक्रवारपासून प्रत्यक्ष प्रक्रिया सुरू होईल. पहिली विशेष फेरी झाल्यानंतर महाविद्यालयांना अकरावीचे वर्ग सुरू करता येतील, अशी माहिती अकरावीच्या केंद्रीय प्रवेश समितीच्या सदस्य सचिव आणि प्रभारी विभागीय शिक्षण उपसंचालक डॉ. ज्योती परिहार यांनी दिली.मॉक डेमो’ नोंदणीद्वारे पोर्टलवर डमी लॉगिन सुविधा असेल. शुक्रवारपासून (ता.२४) पोर्टलवर प्रत्यक्ष अर्जाचा भाग एक भरण्याची सुविधा उपलब्ध असेल.

कॅप’अंतर्गत प्रवेश प्रक्रियेचा कालावधी

‘कॅप’अंतर्गत नियमित पहिली फेरी राज्य मंडळाच्या दहावीचा निकाल जाहीर झाल्यानंतर सुरू होईल आणि ती १० ते १५ दिवस चालेल. त्यानंतर नियमित दुसरी फेरी आणि तिसरी फेरी प्रत्येकी सात ते आठ दिवस राबविण्यात येईल. त्यानंतर दोन विशेष फेऱ्या होतील. प्रत्येक प्रवेश फेरीसोबत कोट्यांअंतर्गत प्रवेश समांतर सुरू असतील. त्यानंतरही आवश्यकता भासल्यास विद्यार्थ्यांच्या प्रवेशासाठी विशेष फेऱ्या, दैनंदिन गुणवत्ता फेऱ्या होतील. प्रथम येणाऱ्यास प्रथम प्राधान्य (एफसीएफएस) ही फेरी यंदा होणार नाही.
